Far and Away is a view of the pasture behind our house with some tiny tree profiles just over a far, rolling hilll silhouette. The trees ware a number of layers behiind some of the foreground ridges, and it was a frigid, misty day. The austere and cold painting I began with didn't have a feeling I'd want for any wall, so I began to make it warmer, brighter, and more playful. This evolution follows a pattern that marks just about all of my art; the more rich and vibrant the painting becomes, the happier I get. Quite a relationship. I hope it's one that affects your own joy as well.
